'Europe and Russia's relations with the DPRK (North Korea)' was held on June 29th as part of the virtual International Leadership Conference, a series of Webinars to be convened by the Universal Peace Federation from June 24 to 30, 2021 under the theme: Toward the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula: Peace and Security.
The conference is part of UPF’s Northeast Asia Peace Initiative, dedicated to exploring the prospects for peace on the Korean Peninsula through constructive dialogue between the two Koreas and with the other stakeholder countries of the region.
Following the International Leadership Conference convened last April on the Peaceful Reunification of the Korean Peninsula ( https://eume.upf.org/ilc2021 ), UPF launched Think Tank 2022, a worldwide alliance of experts from a wide range of professional fields---government, academic, civil society, faith-based organizations, the media, business, and the arts--- who will work together and pool their best insights as to how peaceful reunification can be accomplished in the coming years.
Think Tank 2022 was launched on May 9th at UPF’s sixth Rally of Hope, attended by prominent speakers such as former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, who will chair the new initiative.
Marking the anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War (June 25th), UPF will initiate a series of three International Leadership Conferences to be held in June, July and August. Each ILC will tackle specific issues related to Korea and conclude with recommendations from Think Tank 2022 for solutions on the peninsula. Please see below the Program for the 6 webinars that will make up the June ILC.
