We began to develop a Peace Council for UPF with Committees on topics that inspire Ambassadors for Peace to cooperate together.

Two important events in the year are
- The Annual General Meeting currently for FFWPU at which UPF activities are reported
- The Annual Seasonal Gathering in December to review the year and make plans for the following year.
During 2006 there were six visits to Israel – Palestine with the Middle East Peace Initiative (MEPI). I have not included the reports.
- There are reports of two Jewish-Muslim Dialogue events in Jerusalem including UK representatives.
- There are related MEPI activities in the UK:
- (Israeli) Yair Dalal together with Egyptian, Palestinian and Saudi Arabian musicians concert raising £1000 for Bereaved Family Forum
- A concert to support a Palestinian Non-Violence Youth group, Al-Tariq
- The Bishop of Jerusalem’s visit to the UK including speech in the House of Commons
There are events exploring the value of the family from different perspectives
- April – The Family under Strain
- April – interfaith perspectives on parent-child relationships
- July – Mothers and Peacemakers
There are reports of interfaith activity in the UPF HQ and the UPF Branches in different parts of the UK

There were some cultural events combining music or poetry with information or informed discussion about a nation:
- Iraq evening
- Mongolian Opera evening to highlight 800 years of Mongolian statehood.
- 800 years of Mongolian Statehood – art exhibition & scholarly explanation
- Indian banquet – to raise money for Hyderabad Orphanage
- Urdu Poetry evening
- Spirituality in art
