The 12th of February 2006, an IIFWP meeting was held in Edinburgh. The conference attracted 24 participants from Edinburgh, Glasgow, some even came from as far North as Fraserburgh, and from the Newcastle areas down south. All the major faiths were represented, and a blend of accents filled the air; everything was set for an interesting Sunday afternoon.
The meeting was initiated by Mr. Arthur Gardner, who showed a video named “Path to Peace”. The video shows inter-religious pilgrimages to the Holy Land, an initiative by Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Mr. Gardner then answered questions that came up about the Rev. Moon, who is also the founder of the IIFWP.
There were presentations given by Mr. Paul Currie, Dr. Walter Morauf and Pastor Robert Williamson.
People stated that they could learn something through hearing these speakers.
"The peaceful and heavenly future of the world can only be achieved through dialogue and understanding of different ideas, faiths and practices in a respectful, loving, caring manner. I hope through these works one finds out the true meaning of being a human and finds his Creator and loves him accordingly and reflects his love to those around him." So said Mr. Ibrahim Tekin, representative of Dialogue for Scotland. And so he also well summarises the idea of this meeting, and the vision of the IIFWP.
