13 May 2008 - The Universal Peace Federation’s London headquarters played host to some sixty people who had come to attend the first in a series of interfaith initiative events which are planned to take place across London and beyond in the near future.

Together with Dr Raheem Khan, the meeting was co-chaired by Matthew Huish who is also the chair of University College London’s Interfaith Society.

At this first meeting, committee member Mrs Anjum Anwar spoke candidly and passionately about the challenges within the Muslim community and her own views which included the need for a positive change in attitudes amongst all faith communities. Her talk was well received and was followed by a question and answer session.

Tim Miller, who is the Vice President of the Universal Peace Federation for Europe, then gave an interesting presentation on peace-building principles drawn from the great traditions of the world which was followed by a short video about a Global Peace Festival with the theme of ‘One Family under God.’
