The Universal Peace Federation, in partnership with the Women’s Federation for World Peace, would like to extend a heartfelt invitation to a (North West) European Conference now to be held at 43 Lancaster Gate, Bayswater,  London, on Thursday November 7th from 1 pm to 5 pm.

We will be considering the theme – ‘Reconciliation and Peace Building in a time of increasing polarisation: The Need for Cooperation Between Political and Faith Leaders’

The conference will also launch the Inter-religious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) in the United Kingdom. IAPD, as a sub group within the Universal Peace Federation, will focus on developing inter-religious dialogue and promoting fora that encourage political and religious leaders to cooperate in policy formation. Speakers include Rev Dr Marcus Braybrooke, Co-Founder of the Three Faiths Forum, Rev. Kim Plumpton, Cobham United Church, Sanjay Jagatia, former Secretary General of the Hindu Council UK and Archbishop Johannes Ndanga of the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe. Part of the session will feature two speakers from Ireland who lost a family member during ‘the troubles’ and their journey following that tragedy.

The conference will explore, from both political and religious perspectives, how reconciliation and constructive dialogue can bridge the growing divide between opposing sides in an age of populist politics and promote consensus building in the public space of our nations. The second session will include politicians and young leaders. Speakers include Lord Bhikhu Parekh (tbc) and representatives from UPF’s Young Achievers.

Kindly RSVP through this link. We will later request your Mobile number so that we can contact at short notice you if Parliament becomes unavailable and we need to convene in 43 Lancaster Gate, London, W2 3NA.

We would like you to consider attending this regional event encompassing the Scandanavian nations as well as Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Rev Dr David Hanna                      &            Mrs Mitty Tohma
