We are honoured to invite you to attend this conference during the countdown to COP26.

The purpose of this conference is to bring together academics, activists, and policy makers to inform and bring attention to the under-emphasised conversation surrounding our oceans in preparation for the COP 26 conference in Glasgow in November. The environmental impact and role of our oceans has been disproportionately under-discussed, and the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) wishes to address this imbalance. We want to provide a platform for academics, researchers, food producers and policymakers to discuss the stewardship, health and wider impact of two thirds of the Earth’s surface area.

Our oceans have the potential to be an unprecedented tool in our fight against climate change. If utilised and protected properly, we would improve our capabilities to deal with food security, water scarcity, carbon capture and many other concerns we are facing today.

I hope you can join us in representing our oceans as a precious resource with unrealized, renewable potential.
