What We Are: WAIT is a proactive and dynamic peer educational project, aimed at preventing the spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. It promotes the delay of sexual activity until marriage and inspires young people to develop their talents in the performing arts. The aim is to go beyond the prevalent condom culture of today and instead empower young people with an alternative choice through showing the benefits of abstinence until marriage and fidelity within marriage, for the sake of lasting happiness.

What We Do: WAIT teams give performances to young people and parents alike. They have successfully performed in schools, youth clubs, seminars, places of worship, and at public festivals. Since 2005, they have staged more than 70 performances in the UK. This year the WAIT team has toured Ireland, Uganda and the Czech Republic and delivered its message to two and a half thousand youths as well as initiating a new WAIT team in each country. WAIT has achieved much success in changing attitudes toward sex and relationships and in helping young people make correct decisions for the sake of their futures.

WAIT Education: Much of its informative presentation is achieved through the performing arts with songs, dances, sketches, speeches and game shows. WAIT teaches facts and encourages youth to focus on their talents and dreams rather than making risky choices. Their message of respect for one’s body and respect for others is carried through the atmosphere of creativity, enjoyment, hard work and appreciation. The WAIT team also explains matters to its audiences through PowerPoint presentations and interactive talks, the aims of which are:
