The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) - UK Albanian Peace Council was inaugurated in London on January 25th featuring former Albanian Government Minister Gaqo Apostoli, who was the longstanding Chairman of the UPF in Albanian. 

Addressing the Albanian community audience alongside Mr Apostoli, were UPF Albania Secretary General, Gani Rroshi, Albanian Ambassador to the UK, HE Ambassador Qirjako Qirko, Dr Michael Balcomb, Chairman of UPF and FFWPU Europe & Middle East, Lavdrim Krashi, Service Manager, London Borough of Brent, who is now the President of the Peace Council and moderated by Elvisa Memia. 

During the programme a number of Ambassador for Peace awards were conferred to selected members of the Albanian community. The Hon. Mr Apostoli announced that Perparim Rama and Adelina Badivuku would be co - Vice Presidents of the Peace Council.

The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is a network of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace in which everyone can live in freedom, harmony, cooperation, and prosperity. UPF implements its programs through a global network of Ambassadors for Peace. Launched in 2001, Ambassadors for Peace has become the world's largest and most diverse network of peace leaders. UPF is an NGO with general consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. In Albania, UPF was established in 2005 and now has over 4000 Ambassadors for Peace and its Local Peace Councils in all 61 municipalities of Albania.
